Walk With God
Written By Day Spring Center
Summer is here and in full bloom! Outdoor exercisers, along the walking park trails, can see beautiful and lush foliage, flowers, and trees, delight in the sweet smell of honeysuckle drifting along the creek area, listen to colorful birds singing, watch beautiful butterflies fluttering, wave to a family enjoying a cookout, and be amused as children play in a nearby swimming pool. Seems like total paradise!
Ah, Paradise! How quickly our minds can be directed to remembering the life humans once enjoyed in the Garden of Eden. As we all know from our Bible and Christian teachings, man and woman were created there and first walked and conversed with God. We also know the story of what happens when Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree. They were expelled out from that wonderful existence.
But, we have been given the possibility of restoring ourselves to return to that Garden. The Lord, Jesus Christ, made this achievable for mankind once again! The Garden of Eden is waiting for all of us to enter; we only have to change our hearts and desire this with our souls. We have to develop a sincere Love of God so that we can once again stroll and communicate with Our Creator. We were created by God in the Garden of Eden. We have in our very nature, in every fiber of our beings, the DNA of that Garden! And, by the death and resurrection of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, we can return to our TRUE home!
We can follow the two Great Commandments of God that require us to truly Love God and Love Our Neighbor. We can strive to acquire the Holy Spirit of God. This is the true aim of the Christian life. And what does it mean to acquire? We all know what it means to acquire worldly goods or obtain them! The acquisition of the Holy Sprit is also wealth, but this wealth is eternal and grace-producing! Acquiring the Holy Spirit of God is done in exactly the same way! Our Lord Jesus Christ compares our life to a marketplace; the work in our life on earth He calls trading. "Trade till I come" (Luke. 19:13) ... redeeming the time, because the days are evil. (Eph. 5:16) He is saying to make the most of our earthly goods which are good works done for Christ's sake or trade evil for good!
Every person has the choice to repent to that Garden living. This is how Our Creator intended us to live! We all have the potential of living in that heavenly existence even while we are still alive on this earth! Our Lord is waiting for us. "I will dwell in them and walk in them, and I will be to them a God and they shall be my people." (II Cor. 6:16)
